Honestly DTLA is my favorite bc 2.5 hr parking (instead of the usual 2), it’s never crowded, and it’s always clean. The gyms in LA generally aren’t as nice as the NYC locations though. Having to deal with parking and the time limits makes going to Equinox much less convenient than in NYC as well. Studio city has so many damn people.

Equinox is clean and well equipped (except no pool), both of which seem to be beyond the other chain gyms in Pasadena. For that, they charge a super high premium price compared to LA Fitness. LA Fitness (on Lake; there’s another in Hastings Ranch) is dirty, crowded, and cheap. Equipment is often sub par and/or broken.It’s also more convenient to get off of work and hit the closer gym on the way home. I left equinox after years to go to the Collins and Katz ymca. Bigger, cleaner, Airier. Fewer locker room amenities. Hours not as good. But equinox is a waste of money.
